**NEWS** Return to Ostagar on its way! **NEWS**
January 28, 2010You’ve played the game, you’ve played the 2 available DLCs, you’ve replayed it all and you’ve wondered when the heck they’re going to be re-releasing the new Dragon Age: Origins DLC ‘Return to Ostagar’, preferably without all the save corrupting, game locking bugs it had first time around. Well, BioWare have spoken; and the answer is – soon. Probably.
While perusing their forums this morning I found an update from Victor Wachter, the Dragon Age Community ‘Facilitator’ – read on to see what he had to tell us…
The next edition of the Xbox 360 title update is currently in testing for certification. We expect this process to be complete soon. Once we are certified, we will immediately begin work on deploying. What this means is that the notification of the release date could come… on the release date! We’re a matter of days away, and looking forward to getting this on your hard drive for keeps. We’re moving quickly, but will try to be as timely as possible with further information updates.
Return to Ostagar will be released for Xbox 360 and PC within a day or two of the title update. The PS3 release date is still pending. Again, keep watching for updates.
You can find out the rest of what he had to say here, but I believe that’s the important bit right there.
There are those who have (understandably, to some extent) said that the RtO team have failed, and that now Mass Effect 2 is out, people aren’t going to play the DA:O DLC, at least not for a very long time, and even then only ’for nostalgia’s sake’, but I for one think the’re wrong. Yes, it’s annoying that it wasn’t able to be released properly before ME2 came out, and no, I won’t prioritise it over ME2 when it does come out, but I’d rather wait and be able to enjoy it than have a DLC which corrupts my game saves… Hopefully now we won’t have to wait much longer until we can reap our revenge for Cailan’s slaughter at Ostagar, and, thanks to the unforeseen delay, at least we’ve got Mass Effect 2 to keep us busy until we can! (First impressions on that coming soon!)
