**NEWS** Return to Ostagar on its way! **NEWS**

January 28, 2010

You’ve played the game, you’ve played the 2 available DLCs, you’ve replayed it all and you’ve wondered when the heck they’re going to be re-releasing the new Dragon Age: Origins DLC ‘Return to Ostagar’, preferably without all the save corrupting, game locking bugs it had first time around.  Well, BioWare have spoken; and the answer is – soon.  Probably.

While perusing their forums this morning I found an update from Victor Wachter, the Dragon Age Community ‘Facilitator’ – read on to see what he had to tell us…

5 Minute Review: Bayonetta Demo

January 5, 2010

Sadly, being stuck over here in the old USofA, I have not yet had the chance to play the full version of Bayonetta as it only came out today, though I have heard from others that it will be well worth it when I finally get the chance.  I have however sampled the demo and felt suitably impressed to write about it.  Read on to see why, even if Bayonetta’s oh-so-wiggly strut and skin-tight clothing don’t float your boat, the game is still worth a look… Read the rest of this entry ?

5 Minute Review: Viva Piñata – I was late to the party

December 26, 2009

So, you know how back in 2006 everyone was playing Viva Piñata?  Well I wasn’t.  It just looked a little too much like a ‘kiddies game’ so I left it well alone.  As time went on more and more of my friends confessed to having played it, and one evening not so very long ago, when bored with my game collection, I decided to download it from XBL (after all, spending MSPs isn’t like spending real money…) and moments later I was kinda hooked…

Viva Piñata grabbed my attention and all I could think about was getting these piñatas to stay and make my garden all pretty…  If I’m honest, this captivation didn’t last as long as it perhaps could have, but for a few weeks at least my evenings were spent gardening and looking after my new found pets.  Read on to see why I would recommend this game to any of you who haven’t yet connected with your inner child and given it a go…

My “Game of the Year”? Here you have it…

December 24, 2009

I know people will disagree with me on this one, and I guess that’s the beauty of the gaming industry, we all like different things, but for me this year has only really released one title that has captivated me, had me strategising in my sleep and longing to get home just so that I can finish it off; and that game, dear readers, is:

Dragon Age: Origins

So why DA:O?  Well, there are many things that I could say about this game; many wonderful, hyperbolic things, but if I had to keep it brief I’d say that if Mass Effect and Lord of the Rings were to have an illegitimate love-child, Dragon Age: Origins would be it; and if you know me at all, you know that’s no bad thing.

Fortunately, this is my site, so brevity is not a necessity.  Read on if you want to know why a throw away quip isn’t enough to sum up this game, and why the latest BioWare offering has sapped more than 90 hours of my life and already had me planning my third playthrough less than half way through my second… Read the rest of this entry ?

The best of the best

November 24, 2009

So I arrived home from work today and checked my post, and sure enough sitting there, in my mailbox, was the latest issue of Game Informer – the 200th issue no less.  In honour of their 200th issue, the team over at Game Informer decided to publish their list of the top 200 games of all time, so I thought I’d share some of the results with you.

Don’t panic, I’m not going to list all 200 with their reasoning, you’ll need to buy the magazine if you want that, but I thought I’d pull out a couple of highlights…

So, let’s begin at the beginning…  The top game of all time, the ultimate in gaming, the best there ever was?  Read on to find out…
